Michelin Star chef, Tom Sellers to bring his story to Carbis Bay this summer
Michelin star chef, Tom Sellers will be bringing his story of British food to Carbis Bay Estate this summer in a stunning new restaurant 'Story by the Sea' overlooking the golden sands of Carbis Bay Beach.
Tom and the entire team will be cooking lunch and dinner 7 days a week, using all that Carbis Bay and the surrounding area have to offer to create and influence the menu.
A unique dining experience where guests will take the magical culinary journey of 'Story by the Sea'.
Diners will enjoy a unique six-course menu inspired by the ocean and created using all that Carbis Bay and the surrounding area have to offer. Dishes designed to celebrate the spectacular nature of the sea will include the likes of Crab Tart, Lobster & Leek, and Lemon Sherbet. Known for its outstanding cuisine, masterful execution, and playful creativity, Story by the Sea guarantees guests an unforgettable experience set in a breath-taking location.
To drink, a cocktail menu has been carefully crafted to showcase the finest ingredients and will be served with innovative snacks at the bar. Twists on classic cocktails will feature in addition to some of the Restaurant Story signature drinks.
Tom Sellers will be joined at Story by the Sea by Michelin stared chefs, Michael O' Hare and Niall Keating, for one night of the pop-up each.
Michael O'Hare, Chef Patron of renowned The Man Behind The Curtain in Leeds, will join the team on the 5th September, while Whatley Manor's Niall Keating will make a guest appearance on 1st September.
This exciting project will offer foodies far more than just a taste of Restaurant Story’s exceptional cuisine at Carbis Bay. It’s also an opportunity to wage war on plastic. Tom Sellers will be launching an exciting collaboration with Parley at the pop-up to help clean up the ocean.
Parley have teamed up with leading contemporary artists such as Doug Aitken, Jenny Holzer and Julian Schnabel to create a series of limited-edition upcycled tote bags made from intercepted plastic bottles.
The bags will be presented to guests at the end of their meal at Story by the Sea, resulting in 50 tonnes of marine plastic waste being removed from the oceans.
Golden sand beaches and gourmet dishes with a sustainable twist – what could be dreamier?
Tom Sellers: The Chef
Tom Sellers tells his story and the story of British food through an ever-evolving tasting menu of seasonal dishes. Tom learned his craft alongside some of the world’s greatest and most influential chefs, including Tom Aikens in London, Thomas Keller at three Michelin-starred Per Se in New York, and René Redzepi at two Michelin-starred Noma in Copenhagen – all before the age of 21. His food is predominantly British, using seasonality to lead a menu that invokes memory and brings a narrative to each plate.
"I have always had the fondest memories of the seaside and a very loving relationship with our oceans.
The ocean simply is a magical gift we have been given and everything found within it. I feel extremely lucky to have this opportunity to cook within Carbis Bay.
