The G7 Summit, 2021 at Carbis Bay
The G7 Summit, 2021 has officially come to an end, with the guests departing back to their home countries after a hugely successful summit.

Carbis Bay Estate is immensely proud to have welcomed Prime Ministers and Presidents from the world’s leading democracies to the estate as guests and to host the all-important Leaders’ meeting itself. We were fortunate to have wonderful weather which really showed off the breathtaking beauty of our bay to a global audience.
An unforgettable experience for our staff, the team worked tirelessly to provide flawless, 24-hour service to the leaders and their delegates. We accommodated hundreds of event staff, national press and security, all of whom contributed towards such a successful event.
Our team has worked tirelessly behind the scenes for months, preparing for this event. I would personally like to thank all the staff for providing such a high standard of service to our guests and also for representing Carbis Bay Estate and in fact Cornwall, whilst they cared for and welcomed Prime Ministers and Presidents and the world’s press, to our stunning part of the Country”.
Renowned chef, Adam Handling, who will soon be opening his ‘Ugly Butterfly’ at the estate, cooked a sustainable menu for the Leaders. The Leaders were also treated to a display from RAF Red Arrows as they performed over St Ives Bay, whilst enjoying a scenic BBQ dinner on Carbis Bay Beach by Cornish Chef, Simon Stallard. With the best of Cornwall on display, local companies were selected to provide and service the event such as St Ives Company, Scott Woyka Furniture and The Cornish Larder.
It was estimated that the G7 conference would bring in £50 million for Cornwall over the coming years and this was followed by the government announcing town deals for Penzance, St Ives and Camborne that are worth over £65 million in total. As the eyes of the world were on Cornwall, we hope they saw not only its distinctive beauty and rich history, but also witnessed a region that is innovative and forward thinking.
Carbis Bay Estate is at the forefront of pioneering sustainability, and we are proud to have been chosen to host a Summit so focused on protecting our planet. The team are committed to the environment, the bay and the community and this global platform served as an opportunity to spread ideas, create conversations and illustrate how sustainability can work on all levels of hospitality. The opportunity to showcase Cornwall as a leader in green technologies and sustainability on a global stage will bring huge, future benefits leaving a lasting legacy for all.
